Tetsujin is a WWII-era robot that was being built in order to help win the war in the Pacific, but the war ended before the Japanese could finish building it. When the two pilots are in sync and working together, theyre nigh on unstoppable. Two people must pilot a Franxx since the effort is too much for one person. Similarly to Unicorn Gundam, Franxx are designed to be like an extension of the pilot, and the series takes the idea a step further. That likely gives Eva units a real step up in terms of the sheer power of the mech. It is piloted by Shinji Ikari, and it holds the soul of his dead mother, which makes piloting it very personal to him. Like Tetsujin 28-go, discussed in more detail below, its got a vibe of really coming out of WWII technology. Unicorn Gundam hasnt faced foes that are on quite the same power level, so it would certainly be a tough fight for it. Theyre usually much larger than the mech itself, but, despite the difference in size and power, Gipsy Danger tends to hold its own against them. Gipsy Danger is a mech designed to fight actual monsters that are coming out of the ocean. One blast from such a weapon would definitely put Unicorn Gundam out of commission. It has enough power to push back an entire fleet of spaceships. Its actually three tanks that combine together, with three different pilots, to form one giant mech unit. It requires a very high intellect since so many intensive calculations are necessary in order to use its shields, which are the strongest part of it. Plus, the drills themselves are weapons, and the actual size of them would make them hard to avoid. This makes sense, as so much of the civilization in the series Gurren Lagann is underground, meaning that the ability to drill up into the open air or down into the Earth is a pretty big advantage.
